Direk Ronnie Henares promises more quality laughs as 'Pepito Manaloto: Tuloy Ang Kuwento' starts airing on June 11
Actor, manager, and director Ronnie Henares is beaming with pride with his show Pepito Manaloto as he is busy preparing for Book 3, which will mark the return of the original cast members.
Last year, GMA Network decided to tell the story of Pepito (Michael V.) and Elsa (Manilyn Reynes), during their teenage years in Barangay Caniogan.
They tapped award-winning comedian Sef Cadayona and actress-singer Mikee Quintos to portray the title roles in the prequel.
And this time, starting June 11, loyal fans of the sitcom will now learn what happened to the Manaloto family in Pepito Manaloto: Tuloy Ang Kuwento.
In his Instagram post, Direk Ronnie shared his excitement about this new chapter of their flagship comedy show.
He posted, “The original cast of Pepito are back again with Pepito Manaloto Book 3!!”
The seasoned actor continued, “It has been 12 wonderful years since Michael V started this series and it has been quite a ride!
“We are hoping that you will continue to follow and support the show as we continue to dedicate this project to all of you and work to give you only the very best we can offer week after week!”
Meanwhile, it was also announced last Friday that Michael V. has a new role in Pepito Manaloto.
In an interview with 24 Oras, Bitoy stated that he will be the director of the show, after Direk Bert de Leon passed away in November 2021.
The multi-awarded star told 24 Oras, “At napaka-personal para sa akin itong Pepito Manaloto and from the beginning, si Direk Bert de Leon talaga 'yung designated director.
“And, nung nawala siya, nung nagpaalam siya, e, parang wala kaming choice. Hindi namin maatim na palitan si Direk. Kaya minabuti na lang namin na in the meantime, ako muna 'yung mag-helm nung directorial job.”
