Manilyn Reyes tears up as she talks about her 'Pepito Manaloto' family; is the sitcom ending?
Multi-awarded comedian and content creator Michael V. ended the speculations and rumors generated by the group photo of the Pepito Manaloto cast that has gone viral.
Sparkle comedian John Feir uploaded the heartwarming photo last April 15 and captioned his post saying, “Pamilya kami.”
In an interview with 24 Oras Weekend, Direk Bitoy clarified that their show is not ending. He stated, “'Yung group hug na 'yun, actually 'yung photo na yun ang nire-represent nun is 'yung group hug namin, parang remembrance. Appreciation, natuwa lang kami na after all these years, after nung pandemic, magkakasama pa rin kami.”
For her part, Manilyn, who plays Elsa Manaloto in the show, was teary-eyed during her interview with 24 Oras. The versatile actress-singer also admitted that she feels overwhelmed with the love and support they have been getting for the past 14 years.
“Naiyak kami kasi hindi po namin maisip na hanggang ngayon, sa tinagal-tagal ng Pepito [Manaloto], 14 years na kami, talagang nandiyan sila simula't simula. Nakakataba ng puso.”
With Pepito Manaloto continuing to provide quality laughs on Saturday primetime, Michael hinted about their exciting summer special soon.
“Nag-shoot kami sa Nueva Ecija, actually ang ganda nung pinag-shootan namin. Tapos, of course it has something to do with family. Tsaka 'yung family outside of the family ng Manaloto, pati 'yung mga taga-opisina kasama namin, tsaka mga kapitbahay.”
Back in May 2021, Pepito Manaloto took a season break in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and in July of the same year, the beloved sitcom aired its prequel titled Pepito Manaloto: Ang Unang Kuwento starring Sef Cadayona and Mikee Quintos as the young Pepito and Elsa respectively.
The Book 3 of Pepito Manaloto, or the current season Pepito Manaloto: Tuloy Ang Kuwento, started airing on June 11, 2022.
