EXCLUSIVE: Gil Cuerva says he practices the art of "deadma" when dealing with bashers
Kapuso model-actor Gil Cuerva shared that mentally prepared himself when to comes to bashers and internet trolls before he even plunged into the world of showbiz.
This was revealed by Gil in his one-on-one interview with GMANetwork.com.
According to him, he practices the art of “deadma” whenever he reads a rude remark about him online.
Gil explained, “When you enter showbiz, parang expected na ‘yun eh. Fr you to really last in showbiz, kailangan matibay ‘yung loob mo, parang I guess what I do is deadma lang.”
But he admitted that there are times he gets affected when people close to him gets bashed.
“Siyempre there are times na parang nadadamay ‘yung mga friends and family ko. Dun siguro, that’s where [you should set a boundary] kasi pag ako lang ‘yung bina-bash, I mean expected na ‘yun eh, lahat naman ng artista kahit sino ka man eh.”
The former My Love From The Star lead actor would rather focus on his job and develop good working relationships with the people in the showbiz industry rather than spend his time confronting his detratcors.
“Nung pumasok na ako sa showbiz, I guess I sort of mentally prepared myself for all the bashing and I feel like it’s nothing that I can’t handle. As long as I just focus on my work, do well and develop good working relationships with the people that I worked with, I think everything would be okay.”
