Iya Villania, admits to past shortcomings in her relationship with Drew Arellano
Mars Pa More host Iya Villania recently made a surprising revelation in the "Mars Sharing Group" segment of their show, and it had to do with her relationship with husband Drew Arellano, when he was still her boyfriend.
During the said segment, hosts Iya and Camille Prats, along with their celebrity guests comedian-impersonator Osang and actor Polo Ravales, were asked to relate real-life experiences in relationships to basketball moves or scenarios.
When it was Iya's turn, the actress-TV host was asked to name an instance when she felt like she was given another chance.
This was related to a free throw in basketball, where a player is awarded a chance to shoot again after being fouled by an opponent.
Iya then revealed that she's had her share of mistakes or failures in their relationship, and she felt like a basketball player awarded a free throw when Drew gave her another chance.

“I remember there was a time sobra akong pumalpak,” Iya admitted. “Of course, Drew and I needed to talk it over.”
She then recounted the exact moment she and Drew had a heart-to-heart talk.
“So, usap kami tapos (he said) 'If you were me, what would you do?'
“Kasi si Drew sobra siyang nagiging rational. Hindi siya nagiging emotional.
“Ako 'yung nagiging emotional. Pero siya sobra siyang rational.
“So, he asked me, 'What would you do?'
“Sabi ko talaga, 'If I were you, I would break up with me.'
“Kasi parang feeling ko talaga hindi ko deserve. Kasi, mars, it wasn't even just once. Parang it was twice, thrice.
“So, that's why I was like, 'Oh my gosh. You know what? Parang I don't even deserve a chance.'
“Tapos alam mo, mars, ano sabi niya sa'kin? 'Call me something or what, but I still have faith in you.'”
The mom-of-three then said this is why she feels grateful to have a life partner like Drew.
“Parang, mars, 'di ba ang sarap? Kasi even when you doubt yourself, and even if you wouldn't give yourself a chance anymore, when someone still has faith in you, sometimes that's all you need.”
Iya didn't discuss the details of what her “kapalpakan” was. But whatever it was that she did or did not do that time, it has obviously been long forgiven as she and Drew are now happily married with three lovely kids.
