Juancho Trivino to receive an award for portraying Padre Salvi
It might have taken him 10 years in the industry but Juancho Trivino finally received his first acting award, and it's for portrayal of Padre Salvi in the hit GMA Telebabad series titled Maria Clara at Ibarra.
TAG Awards Chicago announced on Monday, January 2, that Juancho won the Best Supporting Actor award for his role as Padre Salvi.
In an Instagram post on January 3, Juancho thanked TAG Awards 2022 for the recognition and expressed how honored he is to receive the award.
“Di ko alam kung pano sasabihin na maniniwala kayo, pero honored ako na naka tangap na ko finally ng award for this role -- after 10 years in the industry,” he said.
According to the actor, portraying the villainous character of Padre Salvi was “such a leap of faith and trusting God's plan” for him.
Juancho also said that it's not only a win for him but also for the whole Maria Clara at Ibarra team and for the Philippine culture.
“It's a reminder that WE can do it, we can be proud of ourselves, our history, our literary works and where we came from; that we can produce top-notch content that audiences will not only enjoy but can also learn from,” he added.
While Juancho still has “lots more to say,” the actor said that he's reserving it for a podcast episode that he will record once he and his family are back from their vacation.
In an earlier post though, he mentioned that playing the role of Padre Salvi has been a blessing for him for the year 2022.
Meanwhile, TAG Media Chicago posted a comment, congratulating the actor for winning.
“All your hard work in your entire decade in the industry is highly appreciated by your supporters & the Filipino-American community here in Chicago,” they said.
