Barbie Forteza amazes netizens in 'Maria Clara at Ibarra's first episode
The newest fantasy-time portal series Maria Clara at Ibarra just aired its first episode on Monday, October 3, and fans could not help but be amazed by its first lead actress Barbie Forteza.
Twitter exploded with praises for the Kapuso Primetime Princess where netizens expressed their enjoyment and amazement at the acting prowess of the young actress.
Barbie plays the role of Klay, a nursing working student trying to make ends meet. However, she is having issues with her Philippine History class where her professor asked her to write a book report on 'Noli Me Tangere' where her unique journey starts.
One netizen expressed how speechless they were with Barbie's acting skills and said that the role suits her. Another netizen commented how Barbie is a versatile actress by being able to play any role.
“Barbie Forteza's acting?? Grabee madadala ka nlng sa emosyon nya,” another netizen wrote.
Another netizen also commented on how emotional one can get while watching Barbie on screen. “Pag si Barbie Forteza umiiyak hindi pwedeng hindi ka rin maiyak nakakadala.”

Co-actor Dennis Trillo has also previously praised Barbie's acting in a separate interview, saying that despite her young looks, she seems like a veteran once she started acting.
Barbie, meanwhile, admitted that she was challenged in the role because she had nothing to base her character on, unlike her co-stars who are based on the characters of 'Noli Me Tangere.'
Despite this, she also said that she had fun playing the role of Klay. “Naging fun sya for me kasi the way ko rin ginawa 'yung character, 'yung pagiging kikay, hindi ko inalis 'yung pagiging Barbie Forteza.”
