She was never one to conform to what is trendy or popular because she values individualism and self-expression.
Alessandra de Rossi’s distinct appeal comes from her creativity and spunk. Seemingly glamorous with awards here and there, the Magkano Ba Ang Pag-ibig actress would rather paint than spend her time partying.
Unlike other actors or actresses, Alessandra does not have a specific dream role in mind because she does not want to limit herself.
She says, “Wala naman akong literally na nasa isip. Marami akong gustong gawin, like isang role na nakahulma talaga for me. Gusto ko ‘yong type na hindi ako nagpapaapi pero definitely hindi ako nang-aapi. ‘Yong smart gumalaw, ganoon.”
Many actresses nowadays are falling into the cookie cutter mold of what a leading lady should be: fair-skinned, long hair and a trendy fashion sense.
Alessandra could very well be the opposite because she is bold, edgy and unafraid to speak her mind. Last year, she cut her hair short. not for a role or anything. She just wanted to let her identity shine through.
The morena actress shares, “Wala lang, na-bore ako tapos na-realize ko na parang lahat ng artista, iisa lang ‘yong kulay ng buhok at iisa lang ‘yong length. Iisa lang din ‘yong kulay ng balat. Everybody looks the same, kaya sabi ko sa sarili ko, maiba nga ng konti.”
In daring to be out-of-the-box, Alessandra often experiments and tries out new things. Self-discovery is a constant thing for her.
She says, “Recently, nag-art class ako, then nag-enroll ako ng guitar lessons, tapos bumalik ako sa cooking. Feeling ko kasi tapos na ako sa arts so real issues naman ‘yong kailangan kong i-sort sa everyday life ko. After cooking, balak kong tumambay sa talyer. Gusto kong maging mekaniko. Gusto kong matutong mag-ayos ng kotse.”
What Alessandra would do next is hard to predict, but props to her for being a fun, fearless and empowered woman.
