'Luv is: Caught in His Arms' writer reveals Sofia Pablo worked as extra talent in a teleserye
Luv is: Caught in His Arms Head Writer Mark Duane Angos revealed that Sofia Pablo has already worked with him as an extra talent in one of his past teleseryes.
On Facebook, Mark shared his amusement after learning that Sofia, the lead star of the said primetime series, was the extra bibo kid talent in one of his teleseryes nine years ago.
“STORY TIME! When Barry [Gonzalez] and I first met Sofia Pablo, we told her to be patient with us because it was only our first time to work with her. She corrected us at sabi niya, it wasn't the first time that we worked together. She was an “extra” to a teleserye we did years ago,” Mark shared.
Sofia, although an extra talent and only seven years old back then, dreamed of having her own lines and her own series.
“She added that it was around those times she started dreaming of one day magkaroon din sana siya ng linya sa eksena,” he continued.
Nine years later, the Kapuso actress is now starring in her first-ever primetime series on GMA -- Luv is: Caught in His Arms.
“Aside from making me and Barry realize na ang tanda na namin sa industriya, Sofia also reminded us of the magic that is our creative industry.
“We can be a bit cynical nowadays but television, as cliche as it sounds, is still a place where dreams come true,” Mark related.
Mark also pointed out that Sofia is the living proof that if you patiently wait for your time to come, the result will be totally worth the wait.
“Sofia is a reminder of that- that if you put in the hard work and humbly wait for your turn, and with a little bit of luck, the spotlight eventually turns on to you,” Mark wrote.
Aside from her first-ever primetime series, Sofia is now being dubbed as the next generation leading lady of GMA Network.
“And here she is, 9 years later, from being a 7-year-old background talent with zero speaking lines to starring in her own teleserye on the biggest platform our industry can offer,” Mark continued.
“I'm rooting for her. We should all be rooting for her. She worked hard for it. She gave all her heart to get this shot. Most amazingly, all the lines I wrote for her- she delivered and performed brilliantly, and beautifully,” Mark wrote at the end of his post.
Meanwhile, alongside Sofia who will redefine the meaning of love in Luv is: Caught in His Arms is next generation leading man Allen Ansay together with Sparkada's hottest bachelors Michael Sager, Vince Maristela, Raheel Bhyria, and Sean Lucas.
In an interview with GMANetwork.com, Sofia said that Luv is: Caught in His Arms is way different from existing stories with one leading lady choosing the right one for her out of the five leading men.
“'Yung kuwento ng Caught in His Arms... kasi maraming stories ngayon, na parang about sa F5, F4, medyo marami na 'yung stories... Pero kakaiba 'yung Caught in His Arms kasi this time, magpipinsan sila and 'yung relationship nila with one another is kakaiba and this time 'yung leading lady nasa loob ng bahay with them and chef pa nila. So, makikita nila 'yung times na magpipikunan sila, magkakaroon ng down moments si Florence just like in the book pero lalaban at lalaban. Meron din siyang family lessons hindi lang siya focus sa love,” Sofia shared during the interview.
Catch Luv is: Caught in His Arms weeknights, 8:50 p.m. on GMA Telebabad and on GTV Monday to Thursday, 11:30 p.m. and every Friday, 11:00 p.m.. You can also rewatch the episodes on Pinoy Hits channel 6 in GMA Affordabox and GMA Now.
