Rochelle Pangilinan on her Lolong character Karina: 'I salute you'
Rochelle Pangilinan could not help but salute her Lolong character Karina for what she did in last night's episode of the series, and has expressed her pride in playing the character.
In an Instagram post yesterday (September 27), Rochelle posted a letter addressed to her character, expressing her joy and pride that Karina fought until the end, protecting the fictional tribe of Atubaw. She also mentioned how honored she felt for playing the role.
“Karina, natutuwa ako na lumaban ka hanggang huli. Maraming salamat sa pinakita mong pagmamahal at pagprotekta sa mga Atubaw,” she said.
She then added, “Isang malaking karangalan ang gampanan ang isang karakter na katulad mo! Saludo ako sayo Karina!”
In last night's episode, Karina met her end when she refused to reveal the secrets of the Atubaw and the “Punong Buwaya” and Dona Banson, played by Jean Garcia, stabbed her to death as the season finale drew closer.
Rochelle also thanked everyone who supported Karina and those who grieved her passing in the series.
“Magpapasalamat na din ako sa lahat ng nakidalamhati, sumuporta at nagmahal kay Karina,” she said.
The former SexBomb dancer also gave thanks for including her in Lolong and for the trust they placed in her. She also expressed her wish to work together again with her co-stars.
“Sa mga co-actors ko. Sana ay muli ko kayong makatrabaho, salamat sa pagmamahal at supporta na ibinigay nyo sa kin,” she said.
Rochelle also thanked directors Rommel Pinesa and Rando for their guidance not only for their characters, but also as father figures and friends.
Rochelle then ended her post by saying goodbye to her character.
“Paalam Karina. Hanggang sa muli,” she said.
Meanwhile, Lolong lead actor Ruru Madrid also gave thanks to Rochelle and called her one of the best actresses he has worked with.
“Hindi pa ito ang huling beses na magkakasama tayo,” he added
