EXCLUSIVE: Who does Kyline Alcantara want for her 'Kambal, Karibal' character?

If she could have it her way, rising star Kyline Alcantara wants her Kambal, Karibal character Cheska de Villa to end up with the most unlikely character in the high-rating primetime drama series: Makoy Claveria.

In case you didn’t know, Makoy Claveria is played by homegrown Kapuso actor Jeric Gonzales. 

In the top-rating primetime drama series, Makoy is hopelessly in love with Crisan Bautista, the protagonist played by Bianca Umali. Unfortunately, Crisan only has eyes for Diego Ocampo (Miguel Tanfelix).

Cheska de Villa, on the other hand, is the kontrabida whose mission is to make the life of Crisan miserable. Long thought to be dead, Cheska is actually possessed by the vengeful spirit of Crisan’s dead twin, Crisel, portrayed by Kyline’s fellow GMA artist Pauline Mendoza.

“Si Makoy, si Jeric Gonzales [ang gusto ko for Cheska],” Kyline tells GMANetwork.com. “Kumbaga si Diego po boyfriend-material, pero si Makoy, husband-material siya.”

Kyline believes it’s Makoy’s patient and caring nature toward Crisan that makes him the better choice.

“Parang siya kasi ’yung, ‘Sige, kung magulo pa ang isip mo, antayin kita. Pero kung kaya mo na, andito lang ako. Kung 'di ka minahal ni Diego, andito lang ako. Parang ang sakit no’n, di ba? Pero andyan lang siya kahit ano mangyari, si Makoy po.”

And how does Kyline want Kambal, Karibal, which has been a consistent leader in its timeslot, to end?

“Siyempre gusto ko po happy ending pa rin. Siguro, sumama na sa puting ilaw si Crisel,” she says, implying that she wants her character to turn good. “That shows na nasa peaceful place na si Crisel.”

But that doesn’t mean that the 15-year-old actress is looking forward to seeing her show bow out of primetime anytime soon. In fact, she wishes for it to stay on the air for a long time.

“Actually hindi po pa namin alam, kasi kahit kami pong mga characters, kaming production, hindi pa po namin alam ang ending. At saka hindi pa po namin iniisip ’yon.”

Instead of thinking about her show's end, Kyline wants to count her blessings.

“Aware naman po [kami sa success ng show]. Pinag-uusapan nga namin ’yun sa set. And thankful po ako na gano’n po ang pag-appreciate ng mga tao sa show.

“Sobrang unexpected po ng lahat ng mga nangyayari ngayon. Nakuha po ako sa Kambal, Karibal, di po namin inexpect na gano’n ’yung pag-appreciate ng tao. Dahil sa Kambal, Karibal, nagkaroon po ako ng sasakyan. Sana po sa future, bahay naman.”
