Xian Lim passes ice skating proficiency test to prepare for his role
Actor and director Xian Lim could not help but be proud of his newest achievement when he passed the Pre Alpha - Delta Test, an ice skating proficiency test, in preparation for his role on the upcoming GMA series Hearts on Ice.
On Instagram, Xian posted a short video of himself taking the test. With the texts on the video, he revealed that he had been training for four months and admitted that it was not easy.
“But with enough perseverance and the people who believed in me, I kept going,” he said.
He added, “Today, I took my Pre Alpha - Delta Test. I passed. Congratulations, self.”
The Pre Alpha - Delta test is an ice skating proficiency test for beginners of all ages. It teaches new skaters the basics which are required to perform other maneuvers or tricks on the ice.
Xian admitted that he was always nervous about taking tests but said that if you want something “you never had, you have to do something you've never done.”
“Skating on ice is pure bliss. Watching other skaters with years of experience, the initial reaction is...wow,” he added.
In a previous interview, Xian said that he will work hard to train in ice skating. The actor also described his role as challenging which is why he worked hard on the ice rink.
In connection to this, Xian thanked his skating coach Ronan Capili for his patience and enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, his co-star Ashley Ortega her leading man for being passionate about learning how to skate. She added that while it will be the first time she'll be working with the actor, she could not ask for a better partner.
“Actually, sabay kaming nagte-training. Napakasipag niyang mag-training, as in talaga I can see how driven, how passionate he is sa craft niya. Talagang he wanted to learn about figure skating para hindi rin siya mahirapan,” she said.
Aside from recently passing his Alpha - Delta Test, Xian also recently released his own podcast, The Experience Life Podcast with Xian Lim. He admitted that the podcast has been pending for more than a year and expressed his excitement over sharing “the lessons, stories, and breakthroughs” he had through his podcast.
