'Heartful Café' to air on GMA-7 this April 26

After much waiting, GMA's latest romance drama series Heartful Café will officially make its world premiere this April 26!

On Friday, it was announced that the series, headlined by Julie Anne San Jose and David Licauco, will launch on GMA-7 and will have a simulcast on GMA Affordabox's channel, Heart of Asia.

The great news was confirmed by the show's program manager, Dennis Bentulan, who said that the executives were pleased with the output of the first episode.

He said in a statement, “We sent a copy of the pilot episode to our bosses and after watching it, they decided to air Heartful Café on GMA-7, instead of GTV.

“So, they were probably impressed with how it was produced and they felt that it would be best to put it on GMA.”

Heartful Café is a romance drama series that revolves around how love brews in mysterious ways.

The series follows online romance novelist and café owner Heart Fulgencio (played by Julie Anne San Jose). Inside her quaint café, she meets a string of characters who she matches based on their personalities and behaviors.

Despite playing cupid, Heart remains very guarded when dealing with matters of her own heart.

She then meets Ace (played by David Licauco), who comes to her rescue when her business starts to decline.

But what started as a professional relationship between the two ends up becoming a romantic relationship as the two begin to learn how to love each other despite their many differences.

The series will also show the first on-screen pairing of Julie Anne San Jose and David Licauco, whom fans call by their ship name, “JulieVid.”
