Luis Hontiveros
Soon as Luis entered the bright and colorful set of Boy Abunda's set, he was immediately asked by the King of Talk himself regarding social roles and whether he had a moment in his life when he openly vocalized his admiration for other men. He honestly answered no and explained that the only thing stopping him was “because of how the public perceives that type of comment coming from a man.”
Fast Talk
He then went on to proceed to Tito Boy's fast talk where he revealed a few things about himself such as that he received numerous indecent proposals, his biggest controversy is people assuming he's gay, and that he's more than just his abs, he's also a talented actor too.
Polite
Tito Boy dived deep into the indecent proposals Luis received which he all politely rejected. When asked how, Luis said, “Some are very aggressive in a sense and some are very polite. I just kindly say, 'I appreciate the admiration and the interest and offering such a proposal but I would have to kindly decline because it is not my cup of tea.'”
Showing skin
Being in the entertainment industry, Luis had to show a bit of his skin and made the deliberate choice to do so because he confidently thought to himself that he will excel in it, which he effortlessly did as seen on his social media accounts. He also had supportive family members who allowed him to explore. He shared, “My family's quite conservative but a lot of them are also coming from the entertainment side. They understand that I'm only doing it for the craft.”
Showing emotions
Diving into the conversation of expectations of men, Boy Abunda asked Luis as to how he perceives stereotypical comments about men being strong all the time and showing no emotions. Luis answered, “I completely disagree, Tito Boy. I cry in front of my family, my friends, and even in the movies. It's not about being weak. I think vulnerability makes me even a stronger human being and I think my vulnerability really helps me with my craft to become more genuine and authentic.”
Environment
Being surrounded by women in his life, Luis learned a lot of things in life and was able to build a more progressive outlook in his life, he mentioned, “I've become more compassionate. I am very fortunate enough to have these accomplished women around me that it really veered me away from absorbing the toxic masculinity trait where society just expects me to always be strong and treat women differently, that we expect less of women, and men are expected to be more dominant and better in things.”
Kindness
When asked how he makes his mom proud, Luis answered, “By being a good man, taking care of my siblings, taking care of her, and being kind to everyone around me. That's always what she reminds me of. Whatever situation you're in, may it be really really bad, it always pays to be kind.”
Dream role
Over the past few years of his acting career, Luis has done various roles and characters but one that he wants to try is to be a military veterinarian with PTSD.
