Meet the cast of 'Code Name: Yong Pal'
Code Name: Yong Pal is a South Korean medical drama series that centers on the lives of skilled hospital surgeon Dr. Tyron (Joo Won) and comatose heiress Christine (Kim Tae-hee).
Dr. Tyron Kim is buried in debt as he pays the expensive medical bills of his sick sister. Desperate for money, he adopts the code name 'Yong Pal' and illegally offers his medical skills to rich gangsters, corrupt plutocrats, and such. At the hospital he works in, he meets Christine, a mysterious comatose patient that he will help and change the course of his life forever.
Code Name: Yong Pal has garnered a lot of awards since its release in 2015. At the 2015 Hallyu Awards, the show won Best Drama. At the 23rd SBS Drama Awards, Joo Won and Kim Tae-hee won the Best Couple Award and Top 10 Stars Award. Kim Tae-hee also won the Top Excellence Award for Actress in a Minisiries while Joo Won got the Chinese Netizen Popularity Award.

He starred in numerous hit Korean dramas such as 'Alice,' 'My Sassy Girl,' 'Ojakgyo Family,' and 'Good Doctor' in which he garnered the Best Actor and Best Actor or Actress Selected by Directors awards.

Christine is an heiress and a comatose patient at the hospital Yong Pal works in. She's been in a coma for 3 years already due to a mysterious car accident.

Darren is the half-brother of comatose patient Christine who is interested in his sister's inheritance.

Before Jo Hyun-jae rose to fame for his roles in various Korean dramas, the actor debuted as a singer in a boy band named Guardian. Although the group disbanded right after they released their album in 1998, Jo Hyun-Jae still sang from time to time and was able to sing one of the tracks from his K-drama, '49 Days.'
