One of the most fun segments in the hit Kapuso comedy show Bubble Gang is 'Bes Friends,' starring Sef Cadayona and Kokoy de Santos. According to Sef, it only works because the two stars jive with each other.

The segment "Bes Friends" is about best friends Ella (Sef) and Olivia (Kokoy) who love to get together to share gossip, juicy tidbits about their circle of friends, or just talk about anything under the sun.

In an interview on Kalurks, Sef admitted that the segment works because he and Kokoy jive well together.

“Ang galing-galing sumalo ni Kokoy. 'Yun 'yun e, 'di naman magwo-work 'yung Bes Friends namin kung 'di kami jive talaga sa isa't-isa,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kokoy's co-star in their hit movie Gameboys Elijah Canlas expressed how proud he is of the duo, saying that he knows Kokoy can "jell well with anyone."

When asked about being the brains of the segment, Sef admitted that the idea didn't come from him. It came from their writer, Kuya Chito, the characters, however, how they acted it out and the lingo, came from them.

Sef and Kokoy said that their characters are not patterned by anybody in particular but rather inspired by multiple individuals.

“Ako walang specific talaga pero may mga nakikita ako,” Kokoy said.

Sef added, “Base 'yun sa mga nakikita namin.”

Sef also revealed how pressured they felt playing as girls: “Nakaka-pressure kaya 'pag naging babae kasi ang fit, ang sexy, ta's 'yung sa'kin 'Hala, crop top,'” he said.

Bubble Gang is the Philippines' longest-running comedy. It stars Micheal V., who is also the creative director of the show.

Sef started out in the fifth season of StarStruck and joined the roster of actors of the comedy show in 2013.

Kokoy, meanwhile, started out in 2011 in the sports series Futbolilits in a supporting role. He got his breakthrough in the 2019 film Fuccbois which was an official entry to the 15th Cinemalaya Film Festival. He joined Bubble Gang this year.
