Binibining Marikit marks the return of Herlene Budol to GMA Afternoon Prime after the success of Magandang Dilag, produced by GMA Entertainment Group.
The romantic-comedy-drama series is a tribute to the viral videos of Filipinas welcoming their AFAM boyfriends at the airport. However, in Binibining Marikit, there is a heartwarming and inspirational twist.
This is the story of Marikit, or Ikit, a hardworking and cheerful Dumagat Remontado tour guide. Raised by her father Gani after being abandoned by her mother Mayumi, Ikit grows up believing that her mother left them for ambition.
Their lives take a turn when Rica, a widow, and her daughter Angela arrive in Daraitan, scheming to buy Dumagat lands for a development project.
Joining Herlene in Binibining Marikit is her TiktoClock co-host and actress/comedienne Pokwang who gives life to Mayumi, Ikit's mother.
Also part of its stellar cast is Irish-Thai model and Manhunt International 2024 title holder Kevin Dasom and Tony Labrusca who marks his acting debut on GMA.
Binibining Marikit also stars Thea Tolentino, Cris Villanueva, Almira Muhlach, Ashley Rivera, John Feir, Jeff Moses, and Migs Almendras.
