Kapuso hunk Ervic Vijandre seems like he has every reason to be confident because of his height and good looks. He, however, revealed that he was once like his A1 Ko Sa’yo character Erroll who has low self-esteem and is often disappointed with matters of the heart.
“[Si Erroll], loser, babaerong laging basted,” he described.
The 30-year-old actor’s piece of advice to his seemingly desperate character? Don’t look for love. Let it come to you.
“Huwag hanapin kasi dadating din 'yan eh. Actually for a time, naging Erroll din ako na parang na-pe-ressure to have a relationship, to be committed [especially kapag] merong get-together with friends, lagi akong ninth wheel, thirteenth wheel,” he shared.
He admitted to succumbing to the pressure of society and sometimes getting tempted to speed things up in the dating process.
“For a time, [yung mga nakikita] kong maganda, gusto ko ligawan. Pero [eventually, ma-re-realize ko] na hindi right timing, hindi [kami] connected, or pinipilit lang for the sake na may maka-date,” he added.
After that phase in his life, he realized that relationships are best nurtured naturally. He was surprised to form genuine connections with women he met unexpectedly, like in a friend’s birthday party or during a trip to Boracay,
“Nakita ko na kapag hindi mo hinahanap, 'yung mga unexpected talaga, [dun mas nag-wo-work]… 'Yung ganung pang-pelikula na hindi mo sinasadya, hindi mo gustong ipilit… Iba-iba [yung mga circumstances at yung sitwasyon] pero para sa ‘kin, mas maganda yung natural na dadating sa ‘yo,” he declared.
