Beginning February 18, expect Saturdays to be both exciting and fun as Philippine Fashion Muse Janine Gutierrez and Kapuso actor Ken Chan top bill GMA News TV’s Day Off.

What happens when you put a fashion muse and a certified heartthrob to host a reality TV show that rewards hard-working Filipinos with a much-deserved break from their job?

Beginning February 18, expect Saturdays to be both exciting and fun as Philippine Fashion Muse Janine Gutierrez and Kapuso actor Ken Chan top bill GMA News TV’s Day Off.

Janine cannot help but be enthusiastic about her new project. “I’m super happy to be one of the new hosts of Day Off! I've always been a fan of the show and I got excited every time they used to ask me to guest. Each episode is a new and exciting experience,” says the Kapuso actress. “In the few episodes I've done, I've met so many amazing, hardworking Filipinos and I learned so much from them.”

Hosting Day Off, meanwhile, is a dream come true for Ken. “I’m so happy, not just me but my family is also happy for me. As a child I have always enjoyed talking,” shares Ken. “That is why Day Off is a perfect outlet for my dream to be a host. It’s a great feeling to be trusted with such a task. I’m so blessed and thankful that I’m part of Day Off now,” he adds.

The two GMA Artists Center talents are no longer strangers to Day Off as they have been featured as guest hosts before. Janine did several appearances including Day Off’’s 11th anniversary special shot in Thailand last December while Ken was in the Chinese New Year episode this month.

This time around, viewers will be able to catch both of them every week as they take turns filling in for the lucky Day Off beneficiary at work. Day Off rewards hardworking Filipinos with an opportunity to enjoy a day with his loved ones away from work while one of the hosts take on his job. Day Off is the first show where Janine and Ken will be working together for the first time.

“I’m excited to work with Ken. I’m really a fan of him because he is a good actor. I admire the way he does drama so let’s see if he could also pull off the challenges in Day Off!” Janine remarks.

“I was ecstatic when I found out that Janine will be my co-host. We’ve never worked in a teleserye or anything, although we already know each other. I’m very happy that I’ll be with a beautiful actress and host,” shares Ken.

The longest-running reality show of its kind on Philippine TV is on its 12th year of recognizing the most-deserving and hardworking Filipinos here and abroad. Ken and Janine are not just looking forward to bringing new flavor to the show, they are also excited to meet hardworking Filipinos and trying out their jobs.

“I expect it to be challenging and fun. I know I’m in for different adventures and trials but I'm sure I will learn a lot together with the viewers of Day Off. Together, we’ll laugh and be amazed at our fellow Filipinos’ dedication to work,” says Janine.

What can they promise as the new hosts of Day Off?

“I promise that our viewers will enjoy every episode. We’ll get to know our Day Off winner better and give him or her new experiences he or she deserves,” offers Janine. “And I promise to be there every step of the way. I promise not to back down from any challenge!”

Ken says he wants to face his fears. “Last time I asked Day Off if they did anything special for Halloween. I am fond of scary stuff but I’m actually a little afraid. They told me they featured a gravedigger. I’d like to try that one,” he ends.

Don’t miss Day Off with new hosts Janine Gutierrez and Ken Chan every week starting this Saturday (Feb. 18),6:15 p.m. on GMA News TV.
