Victor Basa on his My Husband’s Lover stint: “I was able to flex my acting muscles.”

Before joining the cast of My Husband’s Lover, Victor Basa was perceived as certified eye candy with his killer looks and well-toned physique. Now that My Husband’s Lover has wrapped up, Victor has surpassed expectations and has emerged as a bona fide actor. What will be the next step for this Kapuso hunk?

Looking back at the phenomenal primetime series, Victor reveals that portraying David has given him new insights in love.

He shares, “True love really reigns in the end. Hindi necessarily na ‘yung love has to be romantic. Ang nakikita mo talaga is that love is the all-encompassing factor that keeps people together even if they’re not an item anymore.”

Like all good things, My Husband’s Lover had to end, but there are no regrets for Victor. In fact, he will always look back at the good memories he had while doing the show.

“Nandiyan ‘yung mga small moments na for example, everybody’s really, really tired kasi naghahabol, and then there’s really, really good midnight snack. Si Ms. Kuh, nagdadala ng suman. These small, simple things, I really appreciate,” he says.

He considers his role in My Husband’s Lover to be the most challenging one he has taken on so far. It has undeniably opened his doors to more opportunities in the industry.

Victor says, “I’m really thankful for the writers, especially Ms. Suzette. She entrusted me and gave me the chance to flesh out my role talaga. I’m pretty happy. I was able to flex my acting muscles. Usually, like ‘yung sa concert, naka-topless ako. It’s nice na the viewers get to see something different from me.”

What is next for Victor after My Husband’s Lover?

“I’m thinking of going through more workshops with Yan Yuzon. You can’t get rusty, eh. Mahirap mangalawang ang actor,” answers Victor.

He adds, “Of course, I also keep myself busy through social media and through my blog, victorbasa.net. You can check out my Instagram din, @victorbasa, makikita niyo ‘yung hobbies ko, like biking. I join triathlons whenever possible.”

Now that he has more free time, he spends it doing the things he has missed the most.

He shares, “Naggigitara din ako from time to time. Everytime na may live music, naeenjoy ko talaga kasi artistry din ‘yan.”

“I like cooking, but I also like working out. The weird thing is I work out to relax. It’s all good,” states Victor.
