Brace yourselves for THE Primetime King of GMA, Dingdong Dantes

Fame was not a conscious choice for Dingdong Dantes. It just happened, and somehow, he found himself staying in the industry that was once a far cry for him. Through the years, he has proven himself to be a league of his own in acting. He always had it in him to be The Primetime King of GMA.

Dantes has been in the network for a span of 15 years. He got his first big break when he took on the role of Inaki Torres in the teen-oriented show, T.GI.S. Since then, he has starred in numerous GMA Primetime shows such as Encantadia, Etheria, Atlantika, Marimar, Dyesebel, Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang, Endless Love, My Beloved and Pahiram ng Sandali.

Dantes is also a recipient of numerous acting awards. This year alone, he bagged the Best Actor award in the Gawad Tanglaw Awards and won the Film Actor of the Year award in the 44th Box Office Entertainment Awards. He also won Best Performance by an Actor in a leading role in the 10th Golden Screen Awards for Movies and was recognized for his hosting skills at the 10th Golden Screen Awards for TV.

For his countless achievements, the talented leading man deserves nothing less than his title, Kapuso Primetime King.

“Kinokonsider ko po siya na isang biyaya, isang gift,tulad siguro ng kahit sino sa atin na makatanggap ng isang regalo, we will be grateful, kaya iyan ang isa sa mga dahilan kaya I’m very grateful,” he stated.

The esteemed actor currently lead the cast of Genesis as Capt. Isaak Macalintal.

Dantes had this to say about the series: ‘It’s a story about pagmamahal sa kapwa, pagmamahal sa pamilya at pagmamahal sa bayan. It’s a story about hope sa kabila ng mga bagay na nangyayari sa paligid mo. Sa katotohanan, isa siyang konsepto that deals with day-to-day reality at lahat ng nangyayari sa mundo.”

Describing his character, Isaak, he said, “Isa po akong PSG na masisira ‘yung kanyang pag-iisip dahil magiging cynical siya at mawawalan siya ng gana hanggang sa nabigyan siya ng impotanteng task.”
