Vote for Marian Rivera and Carla Abellana as Actress of the Year

Apart from Dingdong Dantes and Dennis Trillo who are both nominated for Actor of the Year, two Kapuso actresses are contenders for the Actress of the Year category at the Yahoo Celebrity Awards. This year, it's Carla Abellana and Primetime Queen, Marian Rivera.

 

Carla Abellana started her career in TV Commercials. The girl with a lovely smile captured different companies to represent their brands, and soon started to join show business as a Kapuso actress and host.

 

Her career skyrocketed when Carla starred in a Kapuso show, Rosalinda. The soap was an original Mexican drama and the title role was given to Carla for the remake of the project. Carla continued to shine after Rosalinda as big breaks kept coming for her like: Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Lahat, Makapiling Kang Muli, and the longest-running comedy show, Bubble Gang.

 

One of the major highlights of Carla’s career is when she starred as Lally in the phenomenal soap, My Husband’s Lover. Lally is the wife of Vincent [Tom Rodriguez] who had a relationship with another man, Eric [Dennis Trillo]. My Husband’s Lover garnered a lot of admirers because of its original concept and the superb performance of the cast.

 

Marian Rivera also started her career as a commercial model. Marian got her break when she landed the lead roles in: Marimar, Darna, and Dyesebel. Shortly, Marian became one of biggest names in show business.

 

Acting is not the only talent Marian has. She also excels in dancing and singing that is why in 2008, Marian’s dance album was released.

 

When 2014 rolled in, Marian starred opposite to Alden Richards in Carmela: Ang Pinakamagandang Babae sa Mundong Ibabaw, and in the summer of the same year Marian joined Juan For All, All for Juan in Eat Bulaga. Recently, her self-titled primetime musical show, Marian, premiered last June 21 that showcased her dancing prowess.
