GMA Network formally welcomed Lauren Young as a Kapuso. The 20-year-old actress signed an exclusive contract today at GMA Network Center.
Lauren completes the love triangle in the primetime series Mundo Mo'y Akin with Alden Richards and Louise delos Reyes. The newest Kapuso star says she loves playing the role of Darlene in the program since this is her first time to portray a kontrabida character.
"In Mundo Mo'y Akin, lahat kami nabibigyan ng moment to shine. I really love my role since it's very different from other kontrabida roles. Kailangan makuha ko yung awa ng audience and at the same time, they also need to hate me. So, its very challenging."
Lauren also shares that her fans are very excited that she is finally part of the Kapuso Network. She is happy with the positive reviews she's been receiving for her performance in the program.
"They are really happy na andito na ako sa GMA. Maganda yung response ng fans ko. They like the story. Kinikilig sila sa amin ni Alden. Masaya sila na maganda ang takbo ng career ko."
Lauren, likewise, has nothing but praises for Alden Richards, Lousie delos Reyes and the rest of her co-stars in the series.
"Maganda yung working relationship namin sa set. Alden is a funny guy. Madali siyang katrabaho. Sobrang bait ni Louise and we help each other out sa mga scenes namin. I really enjoy their company. Madali silang katrabaho, they are very nice and very professional."
Present in the contract signing were (from left) GMA Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara, GMA Artist Center Assistant Vice President for Imaging and Branding Simoun Ferrer, GMA Entertainment TV's OIC Lilybeth G. Rasonable, Lauren, GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, Pia Magalona (Lauren's manager), and GMA Vice President for Drama Redgie Acuña-Magno.
