Recipe: CDO Idol Cheesedog and Eggplant Roll Ups
If you love fried talong, here's a creative way of doing it.
Ingredients:
2 pieces long eggplants
6 pcs CDO Idol Cheesedog
12 slices quickmelt cheese
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 pc egg
1 cup Japanese breadcrumbs
1 cup spaghetti sauce
4 cloves garlic (crushed)
1/4 cup canned sliced mushrooms
Procedure:
1. Slice each eggplant lengthwise into 3-4 pieces. Sprinkle with water then season with salt. Let it sweat out the bitter sap then rinse it with water. At this time, the eggplant slices will be soft enough to roll.
2. At the center of each eggplant slice, place 1 CDO Idol Cheesedog and 2-3 cheese slices.
3. Roll the eggplants around the cheesedogs and secure the ends with toothpicks.
3. Dust the eggplant rolls with flour then dip them in the beaten eggs and coat with breadcrumbs.
4. Deep-fry breaded eggplant until golden brown.
5. For the sauce, sauté garlic, mushrooms, and spaghetti sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and simmer for 3 minutes.
6. Serve with the prepared sauce.
