BTS beats own Guinness record as most streamed group on Spotify

By Faye Almazan
Congratulations, BTS!

Global group BTS continues to shatter records, including those they have previously set, as they become the most streamed group on Spotify anew.

An article by the Guinness World Records said the Korean supergroup broke their own record as the most streamed male group on Spotify after garnering 31.96 billion streams, as of March 3.

The amount of streams in 2023 is almost twice as much as the record they set of 16.3 billion in April 2021.

According to Guinness, the group's most streamed song on the platform is their chart-topping hit, “Dynamite,” with 1.6 billion streams.

This is followed by another record-breaking single, “Butter,” at 1.08 billion and “Boy with Luv,” which featured Halsey, at 1.01 billion streams.

Further, BTS also extended their record as the music group with the most Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards blimps with seven, after recently securing the “Favourite Music Group” award for four years in a row.

The highly-acclaimed group has also been awarded as the music group with most followers on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok in 2023.

The members of BTS--RM, Jin, SUGA, J-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook--are currently focusing on their individual solo projects, as they prepare to fulfil their mandatory military services.

Jin enlisted in December 2022, while J-hope recently initiated the process of his enlistment.
