In a press release made by YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK's agency, they shared, “BLACKPINK is now at the final stage of recording its new album. They will embark on the filming of a music video within this month [July] and release new songs in August.”
What can Blinks expect from the new album? It will feature BLACKPINK's insignia when it comes to creating music. As YG Entertainment puts it, a “BLACKPINK-esque” music.

But the surprises don't stop there, as YG Entertainment revealed that the iconic girl group will be embarking on a large-scale world tour by the end of the year. They said, “On top of new music and large-scale projects, BLACKPINK will also go on the largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group by the end of the year to expand their rapport with fans worldwide.”
Further details about the upcoming album and world tour are yet to be announced. But Blinks are anticipating that this album will be as successful as their last one and can possibly be breaking records once again.
Back in 2020 when BLACKPINK released their first studio-length album THE ALBUM, it became the first million-selling album from a K-pop girl group having sold 1.4 million copies. It was also well-received globally as the album peaked at the No. 2 spot on Billboard 200 and the British Official Chart.

Each of the members has worked on their individual projects during the time they weren't making music altogether. Singer Jisoo showcased her impeccable acting skills in the hit K-drama series Snowdrop, rapper Lisa dropped her well-acclaimed album Lalisa and grazed numerous fashion shows, singer Rosé released successful singles “On The Ground” and “Gone” and attended the famous Met Gala, and singer Jennie strutted at fashion shows, modeled for luxury brands, and grazed the covers of international magazines.

While each of the members has garnered success in their individual endeavors, Blinks have been long anticipating their comeback and wishing that they perform altogether once again. And now that's been set in stone, their fans are nothing but overjoyed with the good news.
