Filipina-Argentine Chantal "Chanty" Videla debut as new K-pop star

We all know that our country has an intense obsession with Hallyu or the Korean Wave.

Today, June 20, MLD Entertainment, the same South Korean talent agency that handles Momoland revealed that a 19-year-old Filipino-Argentine young woman is part of the newest K-pop girl group called Lapillus.

Pinoy fans would surely be delighted to know that actress Chantal Videla better known as Chanty Videla is already in the pipeline and will now be tagged as one of the K-pop idols.

Along with her are Shana, Haeun, Seowon, Yue, and Bessie.

In GMANetwork.com's exclusive interview with Chanty about her debut, she revealed that where and what she is today is one of her greatest dreams in life.

According to Chanty, “Being a K-pop star is just like a wild dream especially to all of us. The fact that I've been given this blessing, I am so grateful. I am so excited to share with the world what we've worked hard…”

“When I was younger, I always dreamed of performing on stage as a singer, dancing, and all that… But that time, parang hindi ko pa masyadong sineryoso kasi I was still so young. But, as I have started my acting career, that's when I've been introduced to the K-pop world and Korean dramas and that's when I started to dream to become a K-pop idol po,” she added.

Before entering the K-pop world, Chanty appeared in some Philippine teleseryes. She was also part of the 2019 comedy film Familia Blondina, where she played the role of a girl named Cameron along with actresses Karla Estrada, Heaven Peralejo, and many more.
