LIGHTSUM drops the music video for their new song 'ALIVE'
Last May 24, K-pop girl group LIGHTSUM released their newest EP Into The Light, and along with it is the music video for the EP's title song “ALIVE.”
The music video is set in what seems to be a high school where LIGHTSUM members are seen breakdancing in preppy school girl ensembles along the corridor, gym, and inside the classrooms. The bright set gives off a lively and happy vibe that adds to the song's charm.

“ALIVE,” which captures the member's individuality and expressiveness is a song that is said to highlight LIGHTSUM's signature lovely sound. During their in-person media showcase sub-vocalist of the group Yujeong shares, “The song holds a magical power that will make the listener feel like falling in love the instant they hear it.”

Main dancer and lead vocalist Juhyeon also adds that they curated the lyrics of “ALIVE” to help their fans and listeners resonate with it. “Simply listening to the song will boost their confidence and give them energy as well,” she states.

LIGHTSUM also took the choreography of “ALIVE” up a notch by adding a dance break to it. Main vocalist Chowon explained that the dance break was vital in highlighting their synchronized dance moves.

Juhyeon also shares, “We have wanted to impress people with a powerful performance starting with our debut track 'Vanilla.' When we were practicing for 'VIVACE,' we used to say that this is harder than 'Vanilla' but when we started to practice 'ALIVE,' we thought this is the hardest performance ever.”
All the members worked hard and dedicated a huge amount of effort to their new song to the point that they spent almost eight hours a day practicing the choreography, three hours with them altogether, and the remaining hours practicing individually.

LIGHTSUM is a South Korean girl group formed in 2021 under Cube Entertainment. The eight members are Sangah, Chowon, Nayoung, Hina, Juhyeon, Yujeong, Huiyeon, and Jian.
