Michelle Dee makes it to the Top 50 of Miss Universe Philippines
Netizens who saw Michelle Dee's potential as a Miss Universe Philippines candidate and clamored for her to join the competition are now being proven right as the actress has been announced as part of the Top 50 candidates of the 2022 pageant.
Michelle was included in the announcement post on the Miss Universe Philippines Facebook page and is set to represent Makati. In the comments section, pageant fans were already cheering her inclusion, with some even using the hashtag #DeePaTaposAngLaban.
Michelle is also one of three pageant title-holders that are part of this year's Miss Universe Philippines 2022 contestants. The other two are Celeste Cortesi and Katrina Llegado, who are Miss Earth Philippines 2018 and Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2019, respectively.
Michelle's inclusion in the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 pageant is vindication for her fans and pageant fans who have campaigned for her to take part in the competition.
Earlier this month, Michelle had posted a video of her working out on her Instagram account, making netizens restart their calls for her to participate in the pageant. While she made no immediate announcement after making the post, she ended speculation a week later by announcing that she had applied for the pageant.
Multiple celebrities cheered on her decision, including former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, former Miss International Kylie Verzosa, former Miss World Philippines Katarina Rodriguez, former Binibining Pilipinas Grand International Samantha Bernardo, and former Miss Universe Philippines Gazini Ganados.
Other famous names include Kapuso Queen of Creative Collaborations Heart Evangelista, Athena Madrid, David Licauco, Max Collins, Kyline Alcantara, and Sarah Lahbati.
