Ysabel Ortega almost gave up on 'Voltes V: Legacy' training
The ever beautiful Ysabel Ortega looked stunning as she graced the cover of the January-February issue of the online magazine Spotted.
The Kapuso actress showcased different sides of herself in various outfits inspired by vintage fashion which emphasized her slim build.
Ysabel donned a blunt cut bob wig with fringes. Her droopy eyes and long lashes remind us of British cultural icon and supermodel in the '60s, Twiggy.
In an interview, Ysabel talked about her showbiz career, the things she had to go through along the way, and how she coped with such challenges.
“I always thought that my first show would be my last. I thought that it was a one time thing but I am so thankful that that was not what happened. If you told 16 year old Ysabel where she was now, she wouldn't believe you,” she mused.
Having actress-singer Michelle Ortega as her mother and Senator Lito Lapid as her dad, it's not surprising for Ysabel to get often associated with them and she sees nothing wrong with that.
“It is nice to be recognized as the daughter or the niece of the cousin of another actor in showbiz, but I never saw it as a bad thing because I'm proud to call them family,” she said.
Having said that, Ysabel is ready to prove that she can stand on her own and create a path for herself despite her showbiz roots.
She emphasized, “What could be considered as a challenge is trying to step out of a shadow and making a name for myself. But I see it as a good challenge."
Ysabel signed a management contract with GMA in 2019. Since her transfer, she has been given various roles including the coveted role of Jamie Robinson in Voltes V: Legacy, one of the biggest offerings of GMA.
But as they say, life is not always filled with rainbows and butterflies.
In fact, Ysabel aired her sentiments over the complexities of her role in the live-action adaptation of the popular '70s Japanese anime.
She had to go through combat training in arnis, kickboxing, and muay thai for several months to prepare her with a good foundation for the official stunt training.
"There were times [wherein] I wanted to cry or just give up, but I knew that I have big shoes to fill and that is what kept me going.”
True enough, Ysabel's dedication shines through in Voltes V: Legacy featurette released by GMA Network to give the audience a glimpse into the highly-anticipated scenes in the upcoming series.
Before we see Ysabel in Voltes V: Legacy, she and Miguel Tanfelix will star in an upcoming series titled What We Could Be.
