Andi Eigenmann to donate vlog earnings to help victims of Typhoon Odette in Siargao
Siargao-based actress Andi Eigenmann said she is willing to donate the earnings of her vlog to help the affected residents of the island following the devastation of Typhoon Odette.
Luckily, Andi's family was in Manila when the typhoon ravaged the island but she and fiance Philmar Alipayo consistently posted updates of the situation in Siargao.
Even the actress' home in Siargao did not escape Odette's wrath. Thankfully, however, it was not badly damaged unlike other households that were completely wrecked if not wiped out.
As the storm calmed, they immediately flew back to Siargao to hand over help to affected residents.
In Andi's vlog released last December 19, she looked back and shared to her followers some snippets of her daughter Ellie's 10th birthday last November.
It is also here where she shared to her viewers her plan to donate the future earnings of her channel starting with this vlog to victims of Typhoon Odette in Siargao.
"On December 16, 2021, typhoon Odette hit Siargao Island (and other neighboring islands and provinces) and devastated our island home," she said. We are grateful that our family and friends are safe, but most of them have lost their homes and are in need of food, water, among others."
She added, “With this, we will be using our earnings from our coming videos to help slowly rebuild our island home again."
“Motindog ra ta pagbalik, Siargao,” Andi shared.
Andi's move raked in positive feedback and support from the online community with others even promising to watch her vlogs repeatedly while not skipping ads to be of help.
Andi also continues to campaign for help for Siargao through her social media channels.
