Celebrities react to Beatrice Luigi Gomez's Miss Universe performance
Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez improved the country's standing in the Miss Universe pageant after finishing in the top five, and local celebrities are recognizing the effort.
These local celebs gave props to Beatrice and praised her performance on their social media accounts.
Former Miss Universe winners Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray commended Beatrice's performance and consoled pageant fans who wanted Beatrice to finally win the crown.
Pia noted that it has been three years since the country was in the top five of the Miss Universe pageant and called on Filipinos to give each other a hug and be proud of Bea.

She also reminded people that even getting to the top five of the pageant is already hard and an achievement in itself.

Catriona Gray echoed Pia's thoughts, calling the competition tough and describing the other women's advocacies and missions as “well-rounded.”
Such a tough competition this year! Not only were there beautiful faces and great walks, but great spokeswomen who had well rounded campaigns, advocacies and missions.

MJ Lastimosa, who placed in the top 10 during her stint in the 2014 Miss Universe pageant, used a lot of emojis to celebrate the return of the country to the top five of the pageant.

She also joked about the fact that Beatrice would still have to take photos of her once she returns home, even if she ended up in the top five.

Bianca Gonzalez also pointed out that Beatrice got the toughest question among the top five contestants in her tweet congratulating her.

The 2021 Miss Universe crown eventually went to Miss India, Harnaaz Sandhu, who delivered a message of self-love and self-confidence.
“The biggest pressure the youth of today is facing is to believe in themselves. To know that you are unique and that's what makes you beautiful. Stop comparing yourself to others and let's talk about more important things that's happening worldwide,” she said in her final statement. “This is what you need to understand. Come out, speak for yourself because you are the leader of your life. You are your own voice. I believed in myself and that's why I'm standing here today.”
