Get well soon, Heeseung!

ENHYPEN member Heeseung will be taking some time off to recover after undergoing a surgery to remove an epidermoid cyst.

The K-pop boy group being managed by BELIFT LAB includes Heeseung, Jungwon, Jake, Sunghoon, Jay, Niki, and Sunoo. The septet was formed through the talent competition show I-Land (2020).

Leading Korean entertainment portal, Soompi, released a statement about Heeseung's current condition.

BELIFT LAB said, “While taking part in activities for ENHYPEN's first studio album, Heeseung experienced pain in one of his right toes and visited a hospital for examination, and was diagnosed with an epidermoid cyst. Following physician advice for timely treatment, Heeseung underwent surgery on Monday, November 1 immediately after the conclusion of album promotions. Heeseung is currently resting as doctors recommended a week of rest and recuperation.”

It added: “However, should recovery take longer than expected, we ask for your understanding that Heeseung may be participating in a limited capacity for some of the performances for the 2021 ENHYPEN [EN-CONNECT: COMPANION] fan meeting, scheduled for the 19th. We will continue to monitor Heeseung's recovery and determine his level of participation by taking into consideration physician advice and the artist's condition, to make sure that he is not unduly strained.”

“BELIFT LAB will continue to place the highest priority on artist health and safety, and will do our utmost to ensure that Heeseung can join all fans healthy and well. Thank you.”

According to the mayoclinic.org, epidermoid cysts are slow growing and often painless, so they rarely cause problems or need treatment.

You can also choose to have the cyst removed by a doctor if its appearance bothers you or if it's painful, ruptured or infected.

In September 2021, Heeseung got infected with COVID-19 together with five other ENHYPEN members. He has since recovered from his bout with the highly-contagious coronavirus disease.
