WATCH: Katrina Halili whips up healthy vegan burrito

Katrina shares her unique fasting method to keep the pounds away.

Kapuso star Katrina Halili shares how she stays fit and healthy amid the pandemic and her work schedule.

Martin Javier and Sophia Senoron caught up with the Prima Donnas star in Rise Up Stronger: NCAA Season 96.

Katrina doesn't hit the gym regularly nor engaged in many workout activities like most of her peers and colleagues in showbiz.

Katrina, however, watches what she eats and does intermittent fasting with few modifications to suit her needs.

Intermittent fasting requires abstaining from consuming food - entirely or partially - for a set amount of time before eating regularly again.

“Kasi 'di ba normally eight hours dapat kakain. Para sa akin kasi 'yong eight hours kasi, hindi ako pumapayat,” confided Katrina.

Katrina was alluding to the method of eating during an eight-hour window and fasting for the remaining 16 hours each day.

In Katrina's case, she starts with the eight-hour window before gradually reducing the hours in the succeeding days.

“So 'pag kailangan ko magpapayat, as in talagang mabilisang pagpapapayat, magsa-start ako ng eight tapos gradually babawasan ko 'yong oras ng kain ko, magiging six na lang o four. Kakain ako ng two o' clock hanggang six [o' clock]. Tapos 'yong isang meal, 'yong six [o' clock] ko, kailangan gulay.”

Speaking of vegetables, Katrina gamely shared her vegan burrito specialty by preparing the dish in the studio.

Sophia and Martin had the chance of sampling the healthy treat courtesy of the StarStruck alumni.

“'Yon lang mapapayo ko sa mga mahilig kumain, kailangan more protein and fiber talaga, number one friend natin 'yan,” advised Katrina.
