Meme coming to life: Sitti funnily recalls almost dating model-actor Jon Hall
It could have been a meme come true.
Bossa nova singer Sitti shared a funny story on Facebook today, April 14, about the time when a good friend of hers was thinking of setting her up on a date with model-actor Jon Hall.
The “Para Sa Akin” singer recounted turning down the idea from the get-go not because she didn't find Jon attractive but due to another hilarious reason.
“True story,” wrote Sitti to start her post.
“Back in 2012, @docbistek, husband of my good friend and fellow singer @princessvelasco, wanted to set me up on a date with Jon Hall.
“Me, laughing: “Oh no, we can't be Steak!”
“Steak: “Why? He is kind, handsome, intelligent.” etc etc
“Me: “It's really not possible because if we end up together, MY NAME WILL BE SITTI HALL! That's why it's really not allowed, Steak! Not really!”
“Bistek is so scratched and then said: “Oh yeah right!”
Needless to say, the planned meeting didn't pan out and any chances of Sitti and Jon going out on a date fizzled out right there and then.
“Also, Jon Hall probably doesn't know that Bistek planned something like this,” added the singer.
Sitti - whose real name is Sitti Katrina Navarro - has been the subject of funny memes lately along with fellow singers Kyla, Jaya, Karylle, and Nina for their mononym stage names.
Netizens had a field day on social media coming up with wacky first and last names to attach to their names.
Some of the wittiest ones were “Nina Bonnevie,” “Sitti Scan,” “Kyla Jenner,” “Jayatabs,” and “Karylle Yenong Bangus.”
GMANetwork.com reached to Sitti and asked how she feels about the memes.
According to the singer, she is not offended and even finds them funny and entertaining as well.
"Ayos lang," she told GMANetwork.com.
"Happy to provide entertainment for our kababayans at this time. At ang witty and funny talaga ng mga Pinoy."
