Rabiya Mateo gears up for the 69th edition of the Miss Universe pageant
Philippine-bet Rabiya Mateo is now pulling out all the stops when it comes to her training as the Miss Universe Organization announces that its 69th edition will push through this coming May.
In an official post made on Thursday, March 4, the 69th Miss Universe competition will be held at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida on May 16, 2021, Eastern Time.
It said in the caption, “The moment we've all been waiting for! The 69th #MISSUNIVERSE competition is heading to Hollywood, Florida!
“MISS UNIVERSE will air live around the world from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Sunday, May 16 at 8:00 PM ET @hardrockholly.”
The post showed all the past Miss Universe competitions and the crowning moment of past winners, including former titleholders France's Iris Mittenaere, South Africa's Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, Philippines' Catriona Gray, and the current and longest-reigning Miss Universe, Zozbini Tunzi.
As for the Miss Universe Philippines titleholder, Rabiya has been busy when it comes to her training.
In an uploaded Instagram Story by pageant maker Jonas Gaffud, Rabiya was shown to be training for her runway walk, also known as pasarela training.
Meanwhile, UST Sinag Ballroom Dance Co. Coach Lowell Basa Tan shared that Rabiya has kickstarted their dance training in preparation for the competition.
Aside from her back-to-back sessions with her coaches and commitments, the 24-year-old titleholder has also been carefully managing her time with her charities as the face of the Miss Universe Philippines Organization.
Just last week, Rabiya engaged in charity work where she, together with Frontrow Cares, delivered around 460 packs of relief goods and beddings to the residents of Tondo, Manila, who lost their homes due to a fire.
She pleaded, “They need more help. If you guys want to donate something, their evacuation center is located at Jose Abad Santos High School.”
