RR Enriquez shares her costly million-peso business mistake
Former TV host and now entrepreneur RR Enriquez is also prone to bad business decisions and money mistakes as what she revealed on social media recently.
Sharing her experience on Instagram and Facebook, RR confided shelling out a huge sum for a milk tea venture only to regret it later after it failed to take off.
“Wanna know a secret? Mistakes that I did as a business owner during this pandemic? Ok I ordered 50 thousand pieces of milk tea which cost me P6 million. Yes, not bragging, I'm just being honest lang because I want to share with all of you the mistakes that I made during this pandemic,” wrote RR.
RR - who runs a skincare business - said she was emboldened to take the risk after seeing how successful her coffee venture was.
“I honestly thought na magiging kasing lakas din siya ng coffee kaya I ordered 50 thousand pieces agad and risk my P6 million.
Natakot kasi ako na maubusan. Dahil two months bago mai-deliver ang products. Eh 'di ba sa coffee ubusan tayo palagi? Kaya sabi ko, hindi ko ito gagawin sa milk tea. Order agad agad. Walang hesitations.”
As it turned out, RR's milk tea products are slow-moving profit-wise, unlike her coffee venture.
“Correction, mabenta naman siya and sure ako mauubos ito pero need ko maghintay,” said RR.
“Unlike sa coffee na pag-deliver sa akin ubos agad. I can use that money to buy another products but because of the mistakes ayan nganga!”
RR hopes her story would help fellow entrepreneurs avoid the same pitfalls and refrain from impulse buying no matter how good the business idea sounded at first.
It's better to start small and with a few orders to protect your capital instead of instantly going all in.
“So sa mga nagbabalak mag-business, huwag muna kayo umorder ng napakadami. Try 5,000 pieces muna. Ok lang maghintay ng two months kesa matulog ang pera mo ng ilang months.”
In the end, RR said she wants the public to know, especially those who admire her entrepreneurial spirit, that she too makes terrible and costly business mistakes like anyone else.
“Kasi ang dami nagme-message sa inyo na sobrang ina-idolized n'yo ako when it comes to business,” RR pointed out.
“Madami din po akong maling nagagawa as a business owner. Importante nagyon alam ko na alam nyo na so huwag nyo ako tularan sa ginawa ko na yun.”
