Julie Anne San Jose and David Licauco to bring kilig in 'Heartful Cafe'
Kapuso actors Julie Anne San Jose and David Licauco are setting the bar high in their careers as they are set to play business owners-turned-lovers in the upcoming GMA News TV series Heartful Cafe.
The romantic drama, set in a fictional coffee shop located near a university campus, tells the story of Heart Fulgencio (Julie Anne San Jose), who meets a series of characters seeking help regarding matters of the heart. She will then match her customers based on their profiles and personalities despite coping with her own relationship issues.
Meanwhile, David Licauco will play the handsome Ace Nobleza, a competitive and goal-driven young man who will eventually become Heart's co-investor in her cafe.
At first, the two are at each other's throats because of their differences, but then love finds a way to bring the couple together.
Indeed, love brews in mysterious ways.
In an interview with the internal press back in December, Julie says she's excited about what will come out with the pairing as it is their first time working together on a project.
“First-time ko makaka-work si David bilang leading man kaya I'm excited,” she said.
“Dito natin malalaman ang capability namin ni David as a love team. I'm looking forward kung ano'ng ma-i-offer ng team up sa audience and ano ma-i-offer namin sa isa't isa. Gusto namin maging organic lang lahat.”
For his part, David said he is excited to work with the singer-actress.
“S'yempre marami akong matututunan from her. I'm just going to absorb everything. Ako medyo bago pa talaga ako sa industry.”
Additionally, actors Zonia Mejia, Jamir Zabarte, Ayra Mariano, and Victor Anastacio are also set to star in the much-anticipated drama.
To bring a bit of chaos to the tandem is actor EA Guzman as Uno Ynares, Heart Fulgencio's TOTGA (The One That Got Away), who'll return from his studies abroad and sway the coffee shop owner back in his arms.
