JUST IN: Glaiza de Castro is engaged!
Just hours before Christmas, Kapuso actress Glaiza de Castro received the most wonderful gift--she is now engaged to her Irish boyfriend David Rainey.
Glaiza, who flew to Ireland to spend Christmas with David and his family broke the good news on Instagram.
She uploaded a photo of her hand showing her beautiful engagement ring and captioned the post, “Who would've thought I'd say yes in freezing cold weather...it just felt right.”
Immediately, Glaiza was flooded with congratulatory messages from netizens and celebrities including Kapuso primetime star Carla Abellana and her Encantadia co-star Kate Valdez to name a few.
In just one hour, Glaiza's post has gotten over 29,000 likes and counting.
In a report on 24 Oras yesterday, December 23, Glaiza told Lhar Santiago what it's like spending Christmas for the first-time in Ireland.
She shared, “Medyo nakakapanibago lang kasi galing ka sa tropical country, e.
"'Tapos once you get out of the house nandoon na 'yung lamig, nandoon na 'yung hangin na medyo talagang nagpe-penetrate doon sa kalamnan mo [laughs]”
Meanwhile, David Rainey also mentioned during his interview in Chika Minute that before the actress flew to Ireland, he assured Glaiza's family that he would take good care of her.
“We will take care of her, keep her safe, keep her warm, make sure she has lots of nice foods. Like,when I was in the Philippines from February to June, and Glaiza's family took care of me. We will do the same.”

Date of the wedding
After the sweet proposal, GMA Showbiz reporter Lhar Santiago was able to catch up again with Glaiza.
The latter shared some initial plans for her wedding with David, but she stressed that tying the knot in 2021 is out of the question.
She told Lhar, “Definitely hindi pa sa 2021 pero baka after na po. We're still taking our time. Hindi naman kami masyadong nagmamadali especially may mga work pa na nag-aantay na.”
“Actually pag-uwi ko ng Philippines, mga ilang araw may gagawin na po akong bagong project,” the actress added.
If we are used to seeing grand wedding events from celebrities in the past, Glaiza De Castro declared that she wants a simple and intimate ceremony for her special day.
“Sa Philippines pero I would say na very simple lang kasi simple lang naman kami pareho. It's definitely not gonna be a grand wedding. Basta nandu'n lahat ng mga importanteng tao, friends, and family. 'Yun na 'yon,”
Sweet proposal
Glaiza shared more details about the sweet proposal of David Rainey during her recent interview with entertainment writer Gorgy Rula for DZRH via video conference.
She recalled that she was extremely nervous during that time.
“Sobrang nilalamig ako kasi mahangin din nung panahon na yun.
“Parang hindi totoo. Lahat nung time na nangyari yun, parang hindi siya totoo.
“So, parang yung nasa alapaap ako. Parang nananaginip.'Tapos pagkasabi ko ng 'yes,' biglang pumutok yung araw.
“Timing na ganun. Biglang nagliwanag talaga,”
Glaiza is set to appear in the adaptation of the classic '80s movie 'Nagbabagang Luha', which boasts a stellar cast then composed of Lorna Tolentino, Gabby Concepcion, Alice Dixson, and Richard Gomez.
This time around, she will be paired for the first-time with mestizo hunk Rayver Cruz.
Prenup shoot in Ireland
Future Mr. and Mrs. Rainey made sure that they'd have a productive time while they're in Ireland.
In fact, the couple have decided to shoot their prenup photos already--Glaiza has shared on Instagram some of their photos together for her followers to see, which were shot by wedding photographer Paul Doherty.
Even if we are seeing Glaiza De Castro at the happiest point in her life, she admitted during her 24 Oras interview with Lhar Santiago that she felt some doubts if David Rainey was the right one for her.
The actress-singer told 24 Oras, “Noong time na nag-aalinlangan ako kung talagang siya ba talaga 'yung tao para sa akin, laging may pinapakita si Lord na pagkakataon para sabihin sakin na ito 'yung binigay ko para sa 'yo," paggunita niya.
"Masasabi ko na through David nararamdaman ko rin 'yung blessing sakin ni Lord, 'yung pagmamahal niya sa akin, kasi pinaparamdam niya sa akin kung gaano 'ko ka-special,"
