Arnel Pineda claps back at bashers after brother's arrest

By Cara Emmeline Garcia
Arnel Pineda couldn't stop himself from responding to his bashers who mocked his brother's arrest.

Journey lead singer Arnel Pineda posted a lengthy message on his personal social media account to address the critics who were quick to mock his brother who was arrested for possession of illegal drugs on Tuesday, October 6.

On his Instagram, the singer wrote, “To the bashers who chose to cowardly succumb to prejudism and unkindness while hiding conveniently in the cloak of your keyboards and computer screens, there are more helpful and useful things to do, like facing your precious mirror once in a while.

“Who knows, you might find yourselves as imperfect as me, my family, and everyone else.

“To my real friends and supporters, who know that our friendship is eternally unbounded by time and space, you know who you are.”

The 53-year-old singer thanked all his supporters for the love he's received thus far.

“Thank you for your prayers and love,” he said.

“You don't even know how much all of you have hugely blessed us by sending kind and comforting words. May God be with you all always. Love and peace.”

On Tuesday, Arnel's brother Rusmon and a barangay tanod named Rojimar Frilles were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City for illegally possessing 30 grams of shabu amounting to PhP136,000.

According to Police Captain Nazarino Emia of the QCPD Station 10, he and his team have been observing Rusmon's illegal activities before proceeding with the operations.

Rojimar denied taking part in the illegal activity while Rusmon refused to give any statement.
