Sa story conference ng “I Heart You Pare,” nagkuwento ang Asia’s Songbird about her upcoming wedding and her new project sa Kapuso Network. Text by Loretta G. Ramirez. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio. Masaya at tila isang show ang naganap na story conference ng I Heart You Pare noong nakaraang October 21, 2010. Dinaluhan ito ng cast na pinangungunahan na ni Regine Velasquez, Ian Veneracion at Dingdong Dantes. Bago pa man i-present ang plot at mga characters ng story, may mga nag-perform na drag queens upang bigyan ng idea ang mga dumalo kung ano ang dapat nating abangan sa opening salvo ng GMA sa 2011, ang I Heart You Pare. Regine’s role Nagpaunlak ng isang interview si Regine about her interesting role bago pa man matapos ang event at inamin niya na she’s really looking forward to playing the role of Tonette, ang bida sa story. “Exciting ito kasi nga makikita natin yung mundo ng mga minamahal nating mga bakla. So, it is nice to be able to see their work kasi I’m sure maraming heartbreaks [dahil] hindi naman madali na ganun ‘yung life mo eh,” ang kuwento sa amin ni Regine. She continues that she looks forward to her transformation as Tonette at ang pakikipagsabayan niya sa mga drag queens during their musical performances. “They will teach me,” ang sabi pa niya, referring to the gay performers in the room. “The funny thing about me is that when I am playing a character, especially if the character is like this one, buwis-buhay ang mga ginagawa niya, hindi ako nahihiya eh. Wala akong inhibitions whatsoever, so I am able to do the things that I am supposed to do kasi yun din ang expected sa akin di ba?” Pero wala ba siyang hesitations na tanggapin ang role since busy siya sa preparations sa kanyang December wedding? “It’s a challenge eh. Before I embark on another challenge, icha-challenge ko ang sarili ko muna as an artist, so it’s exciting. Ako naman, masipag ako, hindi ako umaayaw sa trabaho, plus, ayokong ma-stress sa wedding. So this is a good distraction for me para ma- miss din ako ng honey ko (Ogie Alcasid) bilang hindi niya ako kasama [sa preparations for the wedding].” Kaya ba dumating ang ex-wife ni Ogie na si Michelle van Eimeren para tumulong sa preparations? “Oo she’s here, nasa Divisoria. (laugh) Namimili as we speak!” I Heart You Pare will start taping in November and will have a break in December for Regine’s wedding. They will resume taping in January kasabay na rin ng kanilang pilot episode sa telebisyon ayon kay Hazel Abonita, Program Manager ng show.
