Jackson Wang pays homage to '90s Hong Kong films in 'Pretty Please'
GOT7 member Jackson Wang dropped the full music video for his much-awaited collaboration with DJ duo Galantis on Friday, September 4.
The new single, titled “Pretty Please,” is an infusion of Galantis's signature style with Jackson's moody, retro vocals.
For the music video, Jackson showcased his sleek dance moves in a Hong Kong-style thriller as he chases a woman and convinces her to give him a chance.
Not only did he act, sing, and dance in the music video but also produced, directed, and wrote its script.
During the credits, the Olympic fencer-turned-singer gave a sneak peek of his directorial process alongside his Team Wang members.
He said, “I've always been a fan of Chinese Hong Kong movies and for the music video treatment, I first thought that it'll be kinda cool to do something like that.
“It's something different, and it's something that I liked, and always wanted to do: Chinese classic Hong Kong '90s movie concept and love story.”
