Christian Bautista, to headline "One Voice for Children" virtual concert
World Vision's celebrity ambassadors and advocates are uniting for “One Voice for Children,” a one-night inspirational concert that aims to support the child-focused organization's most vulnerable children and their families and communities.
The “One Voice for Children” virtual concert is free for all and will be happening this August 29, 2020 (Saturday), 7PM on World Vision's official Facebook page.
Christian Bautista, Ogie Alcasid, Quest, and the Perkins Twins will be performing in “One Voice for Children,” a fundraising concert directed by Paolo Valenciano, while also sharing their child-focused advocacies as ambassadors for World Vision.
Other World Vision ambassadors and advocates including Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Kim Atienza, Christine Babao, JJ Dolor, Tippy Dos Santos, Matteo Guidicelli, Gretchen Ho, Marc Nelson, Enzo Pineda, Miriam Quiambao, Bianca Umali, Janina Vela, and Gelli Victor have been invited to share their messages of hope for children and their families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
All proceeds from the “One Voice for Children” Virtual Concert will go to support World Vision's education projects that aim to assist the children during this COVID-19 pandemic, including the annual distribution of school kits and the Abutin Na10 campaign in partnership with the Department of Education.
During the virtual press conference, Christian spoke about how helping each other should still continue especially now with the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country.
He said, "It's a hard time, pero here we are just still doing our best to move forward, to gather what strength we have to encourage other families or other people who may still have some to give.
"There are really some communities na walang wala. Nung April and May, everyone was just really affected because we didn't know what to do. But hindi po dapat matapos ang pagtulong lalo na ngayon, even before COVID-19, ang daming children and families na kailangan ng tulong. The help goes on, the fundraisers go on. The artists continue to sing and inspire.
"Here, we have World Vision continuing even though mas mahirap pa 'yung ginagawa nila ngayon even though mas mahirap pa ang sitwasyon ngayon. But they're still doing their best to educate children kahit walang eskwela, and to feel children kahit kailangan ng social distancing.
"It's tough for everyone who's here but we're hanging in there. We just want to continue this fight."
