After being detained for almost two days, actor and TV host KC Montero has finally arrived at the comfort of his home late Tuesday night, June 30.
On Instagram and Twitter, Montero shared his sigh of relief to his followers by writing, “[I am] glad to finally be home.
Early Wednesday, July 1, Montero joined radio DJs Mo Twister, CJ the DJ, and Suzy at Good Times with Mo to discuss the whole incident with their listeners.
He recalls that the whole incident was blown out of proportion but understands “where the PNP was coming from.”
Adding, “I can't say too much because the cops [that were there] became my friends. I was that guy with all the cop buddies.
“I think that there was a bit of mishandling that happened. But, I mean, I'm not too mad at them.
"There's a lot of people that I can be mad at but I'm not mad at the PNP.”
On Sunday, June 28, it was reported that Montero, his wife Stephanie Dods, and 100 other people were nabbed in a bar by the Makati City police for violating social distancing rules amid the general community quarantine (GCQ) in Metro Manila.
According to the host, he and his wife were only there to grab a quick dinner.
“So, we're allowed to go inside because it was open,” he said.
“When we walked in, it was one of those things na, are we gonna eat here or not? We're on the 18th floor, so we just kinda stood in line.
“There was someone who had a reservation and we were standing there with the menu looking around thinking, 'Wow… there's a lot of people here.'
“And then we looked at the menu again and thought, 'Oh why are these military-looking people here?'
"Like, we didn't even have the chance to decide whether we're gonna stay [for dinner] or not.”
Montero added that he even commended the police and the establishment for working together upon entering the premises.
“I walked in and I saw some of the cops and I was like, 'This is good. The police are here to make sure that everybody is behaving. They are working hand in hand, showing people how to open in a pandemic.'
“But, no. They were there to show us out.”

During the radio show, the TV personality also cleared up rumors regarding his current state during his arrest.
He explained, “Sabi nila, 'O siguro lasing ka that day kasi why would you go there? Plus, you have your party background.
“Maybe 5 years ago I would do that or maybe if there isn't a pandemic.
"But this time, I can proudly say that you're wrong.”
When asked about his red eyes during his press interviews, he clarified, “I've had an eye issue my whole life in the Philippines.”
Adding, “It's ridiculous and finally it has been brought to the attention of the public.
“I don't blink as much as everybody else and it gets worse 'cause it's allergic to dust and pollution.
"So they become super red and sometimes they get almost purple. It's really weird.”
Montero concluded that if he were to spend another day with the police, he'd be okay with it.
Stating, “The first night, the first couple of hours, sucked.
“I guess, when all of the cases were starting to get filed, they were taking our signatures... There was nothing we could do at that point.
"I was like, alright we'll be here for another night and we're gonna wait 'til tomorrow.
“Literally, by the second day, I thought that I'm okay with staying here for a couple more days.
“I think it was also because it was me and a couple more people of the same age. We are guys that are cool with it.”
Montero said that he is scheduled for a hearing “in a couple of days.”
