Leading television giant GMA Network opened 2020 with a bang by posting strong nationwide ratings to kick off its 70th anniversary.

According to the latest data provided by Nielsen TV Audience Measurement for January, GMA registered an average total day people audience share of 34.7% in the National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM), beating ABS-CBN's 31.7%.

Kapuso viewers should also expect more exciting offerings in line with the grand celebration of the network's anniversary.

Recently, the network launched two drama projects to beef up its primetime lineup: Anak ni Waray Vs. Anak ni Biday starring Barbie Forteza and Kate Valdez, and the new soap featuring the best actors and actresses in showbiz, Love of My Life featuring Carla Abellana, Tom Rodriguez, Rhian Ramos, Mikael Daez, and Coney Reyes, which its pilot episode last February 3 won over its rival program.

What's more, viewers and K-drama fans are already eagerly anticipating the worldwide launch of Descendants of the Sun (The Philippine Adaptation) on February 10. This series is top-billed by a star-studded cast led by Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes, Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado, Rocco Nacino, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith.

Other shows that will premiere soon include Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit, Centerstage, Ilaban Natin 'Yan, and Wowowin Primetime.
