Betong Sumaya shares his preparations as a sidestage host for 'Centerstage'

Betong Sumaya shares his preparations ahead of his hosting stint in the newest Kapuso singing competitions for kids titled Centerstage.

In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, Betong said he will be the one supporting the contestants' parents from behind following the results of the competition.

He said, “'Yung preparations na ginagawa ko siguro more on interaction with the parents, with the contestants, so dapat marunong akong magbigay ng lakas ng loob sa mga magulang. Kailangan kong i-boost 'yung moral nila. So, 'yun 'yung pipilitin nating ma-achieve.

“Siyempre sa mga contest, may nananalo, may natatalo. In case na medyo hindi palarin 'yung mga anak nila, ako 'yung magpapataas ng moral nila.

“At the same time, magpapalakas na, 'Mommy! Daddy! 'Wag po kayong mag-alala. This is not the end of the road. Marami pang chances para mas lalong mabigyan ng chance 'yung anak n'yo na lumaban ulit.

“'Wag bibitawan 'yung pangarap na matupad nila yun.”

Meanwhile, as per Betong's major projects this 2020, his stint as Centerstage sidestage host is the most notable yet.

“It is such an amazing feeling dahil kakaibang challenge naman ito, dahil mga bata naman 'yung makakasama,” he said.

Centerstage is a singing competition that will feature kids aged 12 and under who will try to outshine one another in order to take and defend their place on the center stage.

Centerstage will premier on GMA Primetime on February 16.
