Miss Universe Philippines will reveal a new crown this 2020!

Miss Universe Philippines (MUPh) National Director Shamcey Supsup-Lee has finally confirmed the news that a brand new crown will be worn by the first ever Miss Universe Philippines winner.

The confirmation was made, along with the announcement of other exciting details, at the press conference held at Empire Studios in Uptown Mall, Bonifacio Global City.

Announcement: The Miss Universe Organization expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Araneta Group and Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. for their more than 50 years of stewardship of the Miss Universe brand and franchise in the Philippines. Nad Bronce as Head of Legal Affairs, and Mario Garcia as Business Development/ Marketing Head. Rooted in the same strong foundations that have earned the country title after title in the past half century, the Miss Universe Philippines Organization is poised to bring the Miss Universe franchise to greater heights. However, the former beauty queen hesitated on sharing further details about the crown.

“We will let you know at once, kasi we're still in talks with different [crown designers],” she said.

As for who will crown the winner, Shamcey deferred by saying “that we'll have to talk with the legal department.”

According to her, the reigning Binibining Pilipinas doesn't have a guaranteed chance to crown the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 winner.

“It depends on her contract. We cannot answer that [yet],” the Miss Universe Philippines 2011 said.

Nevertheless, the MUPh National Director affirmed that the organization is looking forward to a beautiful year with Miss Universe Philippines.

“With the help of the team and the directors with me, we're very confident that we'll be able to produce a pageant that has prestige and something you can be proud of as a Filipino.”

The coronation night will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on May 3.
