READ: Mr. World 2016 Rohit Khandelwal supports transgender candidates joining beauty pageants
Mr. World 2016 Rohit Khandelwal flew from India to the Philippines for Mr. World 2019 which will be held this August 23 to pass on his title.
He was welcomed in the country at a press conference done in Novotel, Cubao this Friday (August 16).
During the press conference, one member of the media asked Rohit about his views on transgender men or transmen entering pageants such as Mr. World.
According to Rohit, "I don't think there has to be any differences between them (transmen), they should be welcomed just the way they are.
"They should be a part of Mr. World, I personally believe. That's how a person is and they want to give their best.
"I want to really support it and they should be a part of Mr. World or they can be a part of anything in life as much as any other person has been."
Rohit, who was the first Asian to win Mr. World in 2016, has held the title for three years making him the longest-reigning Mr. World.
Now, he is excited to pass his title to the new Mr. World 2019 which he hopes will achieve bigger things than he has and continue to elevate the Mr. World brand.
