Ramirez, Photos courtesy of GMA Network Regine Velasquez, Asia's Songbird, is known for her powerful voice and wide vocal range which has mesmerized not just the Filipinos but music enthusiasts all over the world. She has brought the country numerous awards and continues to give the Filipinos honor in her songs. Ogie Alcasid, on the other hand, recently celebrated his 20th year in show business. In a span of two decades, he has given us notable hits and has inspired a lot of Filipinos. Dubbed as the Singer-Songwriter, this musical genius is well respected in the business. Their talents as well as their relationship is indeed the perfect formula which GMA Network has taken advantage of by assigning this duo to host this world famous musical reality show, Celebrity Duets. Regine's reaction "Actually ang saya! Kasi in the first season the contenders are all very shy at the beginning. Nobody even wanted to join in the first season. But when we started na, of course nakita nilang lahat na its just really for fun and if you win you get to donate your winnings to your favorite charity institutions. It's just like going to the karaoke bar tapos at the same time meron ka pang matutulungan," was the Songbird's long explanation about what she really feels now that the show has reached its second season. She also expressed her thoughts about this year's contenders and has nothing but positive remarks about everybody. "I am in awe kasi parang all of them are celebrities talaga in their own rights, sa kanya kanya nilang field, magagaling talaga silang lahat." She also assured the viewers that this season will continue to be just as entertaining as the first one. "Kaya kami bumalik this year because naging successful 'yung first one so I hope you guys will keep watching the second season kasi mas nakakatuwa, mas mage-enjoy kayo, at mas mae-entertain kayo." Ogie's having fun It is obvious that Ogie and Regine are now more relaxed in hosting Celebrity Duets. In fact, the singer-songwriter admits that he is actually having fun on the set of the show. "There's less nerbyos on everybody's part as far as the production is also concerned and then masaya kasi manood dito because it just has a different appeal, even myself whenever we’re taping its like we are really not taping," says Ogie to iGMA. In fact we have actually seen how relaxed he is and how he tries to make everybody at ease by injecting humor while hosting. "We try to make it as light as possible in between takes, kami ni Regine we try to [make it light] so that the audience will not get bored," assures Ogie. He further makes this promise to everyone: "We will try to make this as lively and as colorful and as entertaining as last year’s show, Regine and I, with the help of the production and the contestants. We promise!" And so far he has not let us down. Why, last Saturday's show was a riot when he kept on teasing a contender, Phil Younghusband , much to the delight of the judges and viewers.
