Marc Pingris apologized for the selfie he took after the brawl between the Philippines and Australia during a basketball game for the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifier last Monday.

Marc received flak and was called insensitive by some netizens for posting a selfie with the Gilas team right after the fight.

He then took to Instagram to send an apology to everyone offended by his photo.

He wrote, “I sincerely apologize to everyone who were affected by the selfie that I took during the break of the Gilas Pilipinas vs. Australia game. While I honestly meant no disrespect to anyone, I realized that the timing was inappropriate.”

“This unfortunate incident has taught me a valuable life lesson, particularly on the need to be circumspect in such situations. Will do my best to conduct myself better especially in my support of the Gilas Pilipinas National Team. Sorry talaga tao lang talaga ako nag kakamali, patawad po sa lahat. Thank you for your understanding.”
