Mely Tagasa's daughter, Gina Tagasa, announced the sad news on Instagram earlier today, March 24.

Veteran actress Mely Tagasa passed away earlier today, March 24, at the age of 82.

Her daughter Gina Tagasa announced the sad news on Instagram.

She wrote, "At 12:26 am today (March 24,2018) our beloved Miss Tapia has joined our Creator. The gates of Heaven open for her. We love you very much, Mommy!"

Gina also shared her farewell message to her mom who was a popular character in the '70s sitcom Iskul Bukol as Miss Tapia.

Last March 10, Mely's daughter Lani Montreal confirmed that the actress was in coma after suffering from a massive stroke.
